Adapting to the changes, YACHTSLICES is offering exclusively SCHAEFER YACHTS in a factory supported “Fractional Ownership Program”.

FAQs
The main difference to timeshare is that with YACHTSLICES, one actually owns equity in the yacht.
While with time share, only a right to use the property for an agreed time period is sold – never the property itself.
At the end of the holding period, the owner can sell his share of the yacht and during the holding period even write it off.
Consider YACHTSLICES a pizza where 4 slices make one pie. The perfect pizza is individual to everybody and therefore the toppings are different for everybody. After 4 interested owners in the same type of pizza – here the yacht – is found, YACHTSLICES “bakes” the pie.
A Florida LLC will be formed with all 4 owners representing one share. YACHTSLICES will be appointed as the management company for the new company representing the yacht. The multiple-owner LLC will be operated as a business and proper accounting with monthly statements, PnL, etc. will be produced.
At the end of the agreed 4-year ownership of the yacht, the proceeds will go back into the LLC and either be resolved, or the funds will be used for the next yacht if the owners can agree on another “pie” with the same toppings.
Each owner of a YACHTSLICE is entitled to one “Prime Time” annually. With four years of ownership, each member may be reserving one of each “Prime Times” during the ownership.
Depending on the group of owners, “Prime Times” may be different. For a group of owners with 50% permanent residence in South America while the other 50% reside in Canada, “Prime Times” may be way different as opponent seasons play a big role.
For other groups with a different religious background, different festive days may be considered. All this will be determined when the operating agreement of the LLC will be defined together with the group of owners.
For “non-Prime Times” each owner can book up to 64 days on the Yacht per year at a first come – first served basis. The comprehensive concierge service and the yacht management will work together with the individual owner.
The yacht will be professionally managed by our experienced team and we will do our best to keep down times as low as possible.
To guarantee the best protection of the investment, the yacht will have to undergo regular maintenance both in and out of the water.
The hull of the yacht needs regular professional cleaning as well as a new antifouling coat once a year.
Also, the engines require regular service and so do all other installed subsystems to warrant an undiluted time aboard.
Last but not least, time also has to be considered to transfer the yacht back to her home port, if the owner has used his time aboard further away from the home port.
YACHSLICES is operating exclusively out of its location in Fort Lauderdale (for now). Given the ideal weather conditions for boating throughout the year, the home port is considered to be in Fort Lauderdale.
A distance of now more than 500 nautical miles is considered the norm.
If an owner-group, however, decides to keep the yacht e.g. in New York over the summer an in Fort Lauderdale over the winter, that will be possible as well and be part of the operations agreement.
As part of YACHTSLICES is coming with a captain (and crew – depending on the size of the yacht), the owner can fully enjoy his time on his boat.
If the owner wants to operate the boat nevertheless, the insurance might require additional proof of the owner’s capability to operate the vessel and a higher premium will most certainly be imposed.
Based on the size of the yacht, the home port, the agreed max. sailing distance and other factors, an annual budget (the operating budget) will be proposed.
The operating budget will be split equally between the owners and will be adjusted as needed.
Owners are commonly responsible for cost of maintenance, repairs, cleaning, management, storage fees etc.
Individual cost like fuel, provisions and the like will have to borne by each individual client and may be covered by Credit Card on file.
If the yacht is available and not scheduled for service in the desired time and still usage time is available, the yacht may be booked “last minute”.
An exchange of usage time with other YACHTSLICES yachts is not part of the program.
To exchange with other owners within the same YACHTSLICES yacht is certainly possible.
We have multiple partners for creative financing solutions for both US residents as well as foreigners.
A yacht charter of the YACHSTLICES vessel is not part of the program.
By experience, the gained profits do not outweigh the additional cost for registering the vessel commercially and insuring it as such.
As YACHTSLICES are held in an LLC, the “early drop out” rules are defined in the operating agreement.
If defined accordingly, a YACHTSLICE owner may sell his slice to another acceptable successor or the other owners (or just one) within the same group.
Extensive damages, by either captain, crew, owner or guest are covered by comprehensive insurance.
Minor damages to the yacht by an individual owner or guest will have to be covered by them individually.
